Álvaro Urbanos Jiménez (Madrid, 1990), pianist, composer and arranger. His pianism is defined in a vigorous sound and sincere musicality. In his career as a performer, he covers music from the Baroque to the present, including his own works. As a composer he has written for various instruments and chamber music, pronouncing himself on the influence of Scriabin, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev particularly as the pillars of his language. In 2008 he began professionally his musical studies at the Katarina Gurska Higher Center with Asmik Chakhalyan, finishing his professional degree with the highest marks and an honorable mention. Graduated in interpretation from the same center in 2016 as a student of Yuri Ananiev and currently doing a Master’s in solo interpretation as a student of Bruno Vlahek. Since 2013 he has developed his professional pedagogical career and accompanying pianist in various musical education centers, he has also worked as an orchestral co-repeater in the CSKG Postgraduate course with director George Pehlivanian. He is currently a professor at the SEK Educational Institution and the Popular School of Music and Dance of Madrid. He has performed as a soloist in numerous events and festivals in important venues, highlighting interventions in the Ateneo de Madrid, Palacio Cibeles, Victoria Theater, Military Casino, Museum of Romanticism, Cuenca Auditorium, Cycle of pianists of the Royal Matritense Economic Society of Friends from the country, recording for the Pizzicato program on TVE, Encuentro con la Música “Cuenca a tempo”, „Klassic Fest“ of contemporary music, organized by the Katarina Gurska Foundation, premiering works by the composer Beat Furrer for the first time in Spain, and pianist in the short film “Le Prochain”, directed by Raúl Herrera and main protagonist Ana Torrent.
