The program includes pieces by Chopin, Liszt, Albéniz, Granados and the author himself.
The Sala Eutherpe, of the Leon musical Foundation of the same name, will host this Friday, October 18, the concert of the pianist Álvaro Urbanos Jiménez, a young man of great projection who is also an arranger and composer. In fact, today’s afternoon program will include one of his own works along with a repertoire featuring pieces by Chopin, Liszt, Albéniz and Granados.
Born in Madrid in 1990, urbanos Jiménez developed his career as a teacher at the SEK Educational Institution in Ciudalcampo and the Popular School of Music and Dance of Madrid. In 2018 he won the second prize and Gold Award as a finalist in the Oskar Rieding International Young Performers and Composers Competition in Celje, Slovenia.
It is worth highlighting his collaboration as a performing pianist in the short film “Le Prochain”, directed by Raúl Herrera. A short film that recently received a special mention at the New York City Film Infest.
Professionally began to study piano with Asmik Chakhalyan at the Katarina Gurska Center, finishing the Professional Degree with the highest marks and honorable mention. Later he completed the Higher Degree under the tutelage of teacher Yuri Ananiev and Master in solo interpretation as a student of Bruno Vlahek at the CSKG.
During his career he has received classes from teachers such as Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Eldar Noblsin, Gustavo Díaz-Jerez, Marta Zabaleta, Andrey Yaroshinsky, Mariana Gurkova and Lev Vinocour.
He has served as an orchestral co-repeater in the CSKG Conducting Postgraduate course with the conductor George Pehlivanian and has been a repertorist teacher at the Andana International School of Music and Marti Musical. His experience as a soloist and accompanying pianist compiles numerous events and festivals, among them in the National Hall of Celje, Crystal Hall of Rogaska Slatina, Encounter with Music “Cuenca a tempo” in the Auditorium of Cuenca, Ateneo de Madrid, Klassic Fest de contemporary music at the Cibeles Palace, the Museum of Romanticism, the Victoria Theater, the Military Casino, the Russian Center for Science and Culture, the Professional Conservatory of Torrent (Valencia) with the Open Choir of the Jorcam and the Auditorium of the Basilios University of Alcalá de Henares.
